About Ekaterina

Ekaterina Eneva - painter and scenographer 

 

Catherine Eneva graduated painting at the Art School in Sofia and scenography at the National Academy of Arts.

She spent many years creating scenography at "Drama theatre" in Ruse, Pernik and since 1976 as a designer at Youth Theatre "Nikolai Binev”- Sofia.

Her work can be recognized in over 150 performances - theater, opera and ballet in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Russia.

Catherine has worked with notable Bulgarian directors such as: Leon Daniel, Peter Alexandrov, Andrei Avramov, Nikolai Binev, Slavi Shkarov, Nikolina Tomanova, Nadejda Sejkova and many others.

Her paintings are owned by collectors in Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, USA and Austria - Vienna.

Catherine Eneva is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists - UBA.


Awards:

Award of  Painting - "Pencho Georgiev" - for scenography and costumes of the musical "Oliver Twist" by Lionel Bart after Charles Dickens in Youth Theatre "Nikolai Binev”  - 1987.  Due to its great success the musical has been reproduced on the same stage since 2007.
